In the spring of 2009, Windham Fabrics, a division of Baum Textile Mills, released the Clara Barton Fabric Collection which is based on Clara’s Civil War signature quilt. The quilt, which is displayed in the Birthroom of the Museum, was given to Clara in the 1870s in honor of her tireless efforts throughout the Civil War as an independent relief worker, delivering donated supplies to the battlefield and nursing soldiers during some of the worst battles of the war. The quilt is signed by veterans of the Civil War. The fabric is available in fabric and quilt shops throughout the country. To view the fabric collection, visit www.baumtextile.com and enter “Clara Barton 1821-1912” into the Fabric Search box.
